Museums are so much closer now, at the touch of a few buttons. I spent hours and hours walking through museums these last few weeks in Amsterdam and London and now I find out google puts the most famous ones on the internet. The plus is that you can comfortably sit in your chair or bed and browse through galleries all over the world and get very good close ups on all paintings without having to wait your turn or make room for other visitors to stare. Of course you don’t have the same feeling as when you’re right there in front of the paintings, but still Art Project, powered by Google is a pretty nice substitute. You can explore museums from around the world, discover and view hundreds of artworks at incredible zoom levels, and even create and share your own collection of masterpieces on google art project. Some of the museums I visited, are available on the site like Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh Museum, Tate Britain and National Gallery.
