Tonight, 27th or March from 20:30 to 21:30 turn off your lights if you want to make a stand against climate change. This year 125 countries are participating.

The world’s most iconic landmarks – Pyramids and Sphinx in Egypt, Beijing’s Forbidden City, Empire State Building, Buckhingham Palace, Rio’s Christ the Redeemer statue, Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe, the Eiffel Tower and many many more – will plunge into darkness reflecting the resolve of the communities they represent to be part of a global solution to the indiscriminate threat of climate change.

2% pentru Mai Mult Verde

Sistemul „2%” permite contribuabililor persoane fizice să direcţioneze 2% din impozitul lor pe venit către o organizaţie nonguvernamentală. Este un sistem prin care cetăţenii au posibilitatea să decidă în mod direct ce se întâmplă cu o parte din impozitele lor.

Eu va propun sa alegeti organizatia Mai Mult Verde. De ce ei? Pentru ca imi place ceea ce fac, pentru ca se preocupa de mediu si pentru ca dupa cum zic ei, vor sa poata lasa mostenire copiilor nostri cele patru anotimpuri, apa potabila, aer curat si nu un cont in banca si un apartament cu 4 camere. Ce-au facut ei pentru noi anul trecut?

În 2008 am plantat 107.000 de puieți în pădurile defrișate, am strâns 94.000 de kg de gunoi care sufocau natura, am lansat centrul de închirieri de biciclete Cicloteque, am adunat alături de noi peste 8.000 de voluntari și am făcut campanii de educație și responsabilizare ecologică în școli și licee, fără să cheltuim un leu din bani publici.

On March 28 you can VOTE EARTH by switching off your lights for one hour or you can vote for global warming by leaving your lights on. The results of the election are being presented at the Global Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen 2009. Our votes will tell the world leaders that we have to take action against global warming.

Earth Hour began in Sydney in 2007 when 2.2 million homes and businesses switched off their lights for one hour. In 2008 the message had grown into a global sustainability movement, with 50 million people switching off their lights. Global landmarks such as the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco, Rome’s Colosseum, the Sydney Opera House and the Coca Cola billboard in Times Square all stood in darkness.

This year the goal is to obtain 1 billion people switching off their lights as part of a global vote. So turn off your lights, Sunday 28th of March between 8:30 and 9:30 pm to show that you care about your planet.
